The Baptist Medical Centre, Saki was established in the year 1902 by the Baptist Missionaries from the Southern Baptist Mission in America. The centre was first located at Elam very close to the Palace of Okere of Sakiland. In May 1952, the hospital moved to its present permanent Site at Ajegunle, Saki. Miss Amada Tinkle an American Missionary Nurse, Who arrived the hospital in 1939 opened the permanent site in May 1952 and Dr. Mrs. Richardson a missionary doctor to the hospital. Chief Dr. Victor Olubi Fatunla arrived in April 1970 as the first indigenous Medical Director.
The name was changed to Baptist Medical Centre, Saki in 1980, when all the 3 aspects of the work of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which are preaching, Healing and teaching were fully embedded.
